...И критика в упор не видела, по-моему, и сейчас не видит самого народного поэта за всю тысячу лет существования России – Владимира Высоцкого.
Владимир Высоцкий был великий русский поэт, который вернул поэзию к ее изначальному истоку. Поэт сам пишет стихи и сам исполняет эти стихи под нехитрый ритмизованный аккомпанемент. Это то, что Высоцкий делал.
В России было много великих актеров, великих музыкантов, и шансонье по миру много. И вот, когда Высоцкого называют бардом… Дорогие друзья. То, что делал Высоцкий – это и есть поэзия в её чистом, исконном, начальном виде. И именно так. Потому что тысячи лет поэзия была устной…и тысячи лет, стихи не произносили таким голосом, которым мы говорим прозу, а выпевали стихи. Мы это просто забыли. Вот пройдя через этот круг поэзии, которую пишут словами на бумажках, а потом читают глазами с листа, понимаете, поэзия, которую читают с бумажки – это вроде как концентрат, вроде как консервы. Это поэзия, которая законсервирована, чтобы в нужный момент ее достать и расконсервировать. А вот у Высоцкого, словно завершив письменный оборот, эта поэзия была живьем. и эта мысль, которая мне сейчас кажется простой и очевидной, до критики…хочется сказать: в силу ее глупости, но я знаю среди критиков много умных людей… тогда не в силу глупости, не знаю, в силу чего – вот эта мысль до критики никогда не доходила.
На каких только поэтов не навешивали лавры и на какие только места не надевали лавровые венки разнообразным стихотворцам. А Высоцкий переживал, что его отпинывают от Союза писателей, отпинывают от издательства «Советский писатель», не признают его поэтом, не принимают нигде его сборник, чтобы издать. А друзья говорили что: Володя, ты что, тебя слушает вся страна, да ты легенда. Да из любого окна там, понимаешь, твои песни…

4. You'll now receive the Writer's Block Question of the Day in the body of email notifications. To sign up for Writer's Block notifications, visit writersblock and choose the Watch Community option. Next, update your Writer's Block notification settings by checking the box to the right of "Someone posts a new entry to writersblock."
5. Paid and permanent users can now view, add, and edit Notes of commenters. Notes will appear beside the username of comment posters (instead of stars) on S1-themed comment pages.

В 1975 году фирма грамзаписи «Мелодия» решилась выпустить первый полноценный диск Владимира Высоцкого. Вернее даже целых два диска-«гиганта», как тогда говорили. Причем один диск был целиком напет самим Высоцким, а второй — наполовину Владимиром Высоцким и наполовину Мариной Влади, но песни Володя специально сочинил для нее.
Для оформления конвертов этих двух пластинок нужны были оригинальные фотографии и Высоцкого, и Марины Влади.
Я решил снять Высоцкого вживую, поющим песни с тем неистовством и напором, которые были характерны для его манеры исполнения. К счастью, к тому моменту у меня уже была аппаратура, позволяющая снимать человека в движении, в крике, в мгновении, что было совершенно необходимо для моей задумки.
Тогда стараниями Марины Володя одевался со вкусом и современно, что тоже было необходимо мне в кадре.
И вот жарким июньским днем у меня на кухне, где я выстроил подобие павильона (потому что на тот момент своей студии у меня не было), Высоцкий в течение полутора часов исполнял свои песни, а я ловил «миг удачи» и точного попадания в образ. Окна кухни были открыты настежь, и никто во дворе не мог представить, что это поет живой голос Высоцкого, а не магнитофон. Вот так мы сделали первую съемку.
С Мариной дело обстояло сложнее. Дело в том, что Высоцкого она старательно и со вкусом одевала, но к себе относилась не так требовательно и не особенно много времени уделяла своему гардеробу, что в общем-то не мешало ей выглядеть необыкновенно очаровательной. Я же хотел сделать ее портрет для пластинки стильным и экстравагантным. Своих вещей у Марины в Москве не было, и я сказал Высоцкому, что договорюсь со Славой Зайцевым, он нам поможет. На что Володя мне ответил, что Марина отродясь в манекенщицах не ходила и в чужом сниматься не будет.
«А вот это мы еще посмотрим», — подумал я.
